Happy Wednesday and welcome to the month of April! I thank you all for continuing to complete your work on the blog each day. Today you will answer some review questions and continue to learn about minerals. Take your time and spend another 30 minutes to work at your own pace with the class work today. DIRECTIONS: Watch the two videos on glowing rocks, read the passages, and answer the questions. Reading Passage 1: Due to mineral content some rocks “glow” under a black light. Ideally, you need a set of fluorescent rocks and a black light. The first seconds of the video show the difference in the rocks under black light and regular lighting. Reading Passage 2: After watching this second video you notice the rocks were a different when they were in the dark and when the lights were turned on. The rocks glow in the dark. From what you saw in the two videos and read answer the question below.

I hope you have had a wonderful learning week. Today is a day of learning that should take you two days to complete. You will have today and Friday to complete the lesson. As a reminder you only need to spend 30 minutes a day to complete the classwork and if additional time is needed, you can work on additional days to finish. Good Afternoon, This is some additional work that can be completed today. The textbook link is still having technical issues and is being fixed. Today you can watch a video and complete a webquest activity. Follow the directions below and have a great day of learning! 1. VIDEO DIRECTIONS: Choose one of the videos to watch that you did not watch on Tuesday. Again you can go to Brain pop and choose Geologic time or fossils video. Take the quiz at the end.

DIRECTIONS LAYERS OF THE EARTH MODEL: As a review of layers of the earth you will draw a picture of the layers of the earth. Draw each of the layers large enough so that you can include information that tells the name of the layer, the temperature of the layer, the density of the layer, what the layer is made of (its composition), and the thickness of the layer. Use a separate color. Use the colors you choose to lightly shade in each layer a separate color. If you do not have any colored markers or pencils, it is ok. Use the attached power point to get the information for your picture. 2. DIRECTIONS: Complete questions 1 and 2 on the attached study guide. 3. DIRECTIONS: Begin the Choice Board Activity.
